Allotments
The Council has Allotment Sites at Melrose Avenue (Borehamwood) and Allum Lane (Elstree) which it leases to residents for growing fruit and vegetables.
The benefits of having an allotment include:
- cheap source of fresh produce
- an opportunity to spend time outside enjoying nature
- a sense of achievement and well-being
- an opportunity to meet people from all walks of life
- environment benefits by providing green spaces and wildlife habitats
- gardening is a good form of exercise

Cemeteries
The Council cares for two closed churchyards in the town area, one at All Saint Church, Borehamwood and one at St Nicholas church, Elstree.

Clocks
Town and Parish Councils have a discretionary power to maintain public clocks, and the Council currently meets the cost of maintaining the clocks on All Saints Church in Borehamwood and St Nicholas Church in Elstree.

War Memorials
The Council cares for the War Memorial in Borehamwood Town Centre and in Elstree.
